VP Debate!
Even though i had to work during the live debate, i was able to watch the rerun of it around midnight. I thought both candidates were very well prepped and put up a strong fight. I really liked the way Palin addressed the people of the United States rather than just mainly Gwen. Even though i thought Palin did a wonderful job, it wouldn't matter. The same people are going to criticize her regardless. So... Palin...you go girl.

"Positive" Reinforcement
While I see Hillary's point regarding the Bill of Rights' agreement on the freedom to speak as we feel and challenge the government to keep it strong, I can't help but feel that the only thing we are doing is complaining! This includes myself. Regardless of which party we belong to, there is ALWAYS going to be something we don't perfectly agree with. If we complain that not enough people are volunteering for the candidate they believe in, we will later complain about the annoying phone calls we get during the day. My point to this rant is to merely show how pathetic many of us have become. If we are always judging the government and the candidates running to become part of it, then we miss out on so many of the things it is doing right. While usually more sophisticated than grade schoolers..sometimes not...the government may deserve a little positive reinforcement for the good things they are doing. If criticism comes out of just about everything done, why should they want to even try to better this country? After all, that is all either of the presidential candidates are trying to do in the first place.

A New President!
While many of us get heated in our daily conversations about our political views, I would like to make one thing clear. While I support McCain and Palin, I refuse to bad-mouth the leader of our country. If Obama wins this election, I will keep my thoughts to myself. I believe protesting the president, regardless of who it may be, is UNAMERICAN. I think we all need to take a deep breath and realize that we are all still citizens of the same country, democrats, republicans, liberals, etc. It's somewhat wonderful that we have a say at all. God Bless America!
Volunteering!
I recently had the chance to volunteer with other people who share many of my same values. We spent a couple hours downtown making many phone calls to people of the valley. It was a nice change-of-pace surrounding myself around people who feel the same as i do. Although i was screamed at, hung up on, and often times cursed, I felt that my short time there was well-spent and appreciated. I will be back!

Palin Power!
Why are some people hating on Palin about becoming MCain's vice? She is a respectable woman and working mother. Most people look up to busy mothers in our society so why all the hate so suddenly? We should be proud to have her in the spotlight. She is a great representative of this country regardless of her child's sex life.
